I’ve had a counter-top icemaker before, but it went out after 18 months. I replaced it with this model, which quit making ice after ONE utilized I’m sending it back for a replacement, and surely hope the replacement is better than this one. if not, it’s back to buying bagged ice for me.

This was purchased by a co-worker, we use it at employees the thing gets employed day in and day out by everybody at work, it never fails us. Its quite the small workhorse and seems to be very well built and sturdy. We have had this in our workshop now for in regards to 3 months and no problems. It makes ice fast too! when it comes to 15 minutes I would say. Great little unit and I can say we have had good experience with it – not sure about the other bad reviews I see here on Amazon.

This is very noisy and clunky. It is very tempramental and decides to stop working from time to time for no aparent reason. Wish I had not bought this unit.

Weeks ago, I would have given this icemaker a better review. We bought this icemaker just over a half year ago and have put it to good use. We clean it steadily and use only purified water in its This week, the machine stopped working. We took the cover off and looked inside. This icemaker was filled with black mold and the ice pins were to the full or entire extent rusted. The white upper tray that holds the water in place while it freezes was fully brown. We wonder if this is what caused my bronchitis. I’ve had a very tough recovery and this could definitely explain it is I’ve contacted SPT twice now and have yet to listen a reply. If I do hear a reply (and it is a helpful one), I’ll edit this review.
