I purchased myself an Accuquilt GO! cutter a couple of months ago. I had very high hopes for this product, and the short of it is, it has lived up to all those hopes.

The longer of it: I wanted to GO! for two reasons. First, I have carpal tunnel syndrome and using a rotary cutter is extremely painful for me. A few minutes of rotary cutting may result in several days of sore wrists and numb hands. Second, my cuts are never as exact as I would like. I hoped the GO! would help in both areas.

I have not been disappointed. The crank handle on the cutter is huge enough to comfortably hold on to, and easy to turn. It gets harder as you add more layers. I’ve put up to 8 layers through the cutter. 4 layers is most likely best, 6 may be a chore to crank. At 8 layers I could hardly force it through. With 8 layers, there were as well such a heap of little places where the die did not cut to the full or entire extent through the top layer of fabric. I would probably not do that numerous layers again. But, even after manhandling the cutter this way, my wrists never cause me any uneasiness after using the GO!

The accuracy has been very good. I not long back completed the quilt top for a baby quilt for a soon-to-be-nephew, and the divergence amid this top and one that I hand-cut is noticeable. I did not have to square up the individual patches or the completed top. Best of all, the cutting was done in fewer than thirty minutes and I was on to piecing. The included value die has an potpourri of sizes; I have been running all of my scrap fabric through on that died Scrap fabric I would have considered too little to save before; now with one pass through here becomes usable pieces. In that respect, it has helped me be much more efficient, and MUCH fewer fabric gets tossed.

The cutter folds up for storage, so it doesn’t take up worthful space in my sewing area. It comes in a heavy drawstring bag, so I may fold it and slide it in the bag and acknowledge that it won’t get damaged. Last time I utilized the cutter, my ordinary table was occupied with another project, so I opened the cutter up on my ironing board, ran my fabric through, and put it away. Under five minutes and I had the binding strips cut and the GO! put away again.

For me, it’s a win.

Squares and triangles do not cut exact all the time. Look for you cuts being 1/8 off and it’s a big deal when attempting to put together quilt pieces! Eats through mats like crazy and once the mat is utilized up the cuts are crazy off, so be sure you stock up on plenty of mats! The strip dies and shape dies like the cat and dog one are the only ones that give you half-way decent cuts. Wastes a lot of fabric with inaccurate cuts. There is as well a lot of prep work, for the fabric, before you may use it and it still doesn’t cut accurate. I’ve joined groups, watched a bunch of videos and read nearly each blog out there to attempt and make this thing do what it is suppose to do, which is give you exact shapes, for making quilts, and even the “experts” on this say it isn’t perfective each time! Waste of money! Save yourself galore annoyance and just use a rotary cutter. You’ll get better results and spend less time attempting to match your pieces up.

This product is everything it’s advertised to be and more. I am now using blocks that antecedently took too much time to cut out, because the GO! makes it so fast and accurate. I love the rag quilt block exceptionally because the snippings are done for you! No more hand cramps cutting all those raggy edges. This product is a must for any quilter.

Due to an injury to my shoulder I could no longer cut quilt squares before purchasing the Go. Now I may cut a whole quilt within an hour and know that each component is cut square and all blocks are the same measurements. What a divergence the Accuquilt Go has made! I am sewing again after 2 years of engaged in a struggle to use a rotary cutter. Love it!

I spent a outstanding amount of time researching this gadget before I purchased it here on Amazon. I read the reviews that said it was wasteful and inaccurate. And I watched several YouTube videos. And I bought it is I bought it because I have a shoulder that bothers me primarily whether or not I use it too much, and a ankles that swell if I stand too long. And a back that also is persnickety. I had started making quilts to be sent to Japan (quilts4Japan.org) and I quickly found out that my body wasn’t competent to do what I wanted it to do without galore dry spells to recuperate. But I was in a hurry to make quilts!

The day it arrived I got out so a lot of fabric I hated and ran it through. I was a bit nervous but I had watched the video that came with it and read the instructions. It was so easy I couldn’t believe its It was absolutely PERFECT. Five minutes total, including getting nervous!

Recently I cut out the pieces for the same quilt I had made initially to go to Japan. A combination of 6″ squares and rectangles that are 3″ wide. It took me 1.5 hours to cut them all out. By folding the material cautiously as shown in one of the YouTube videos, I am able to cut the waste down to a few tiny slivers. So far I have only cut six layers.

Now I have finished assembling the blocks. Because I didn’t have to recheck each piece as I worked with it to make sure it was cut accurately, it went together in record time. Yesterday in when it comes to an hour I sewed the rows together. Normally by now I would have laid pieces back down to recheck that they were square. Didn’t have to do any of that! I could tell for the duration of the piecing and assemblage that they were, because they matched each other so well. I am VERY heedful to put the fabric on the die correctly, on grain. I check any scrap that I did not just cut from the whole piece with a selvedge.

The firstborn time I made this pattern it took me virtually two weeks of short afternoons cutting and trimming and sewing to get this far (plus arranging the pieces within the quilt to disseminate the colors). I couldn’t work long because I hurt! This time I started cutting three days ago. This morning I will have finished the assembly of the rows and be ready to add the border.

Normally I have to keep my cutting board table clear so I may keep trimming. But now I just need enough room to cut off strips to put on the dies. I made a couple of little cardboard rulers for the two dies I am using so I don’t cut the raw strips off my fabric any wider than necessary.

In order to preserve the life of the mat, I rotate it just a smidgen before I put it on top of the die and fabric. It still goes through without a hitch, but the impression it cuts in the mat is in a somewhat different place.

I do think that the instructions could be better. They are very scattered. The inside of the die packaging tells how a great deal of you can cut from a sure sized piece of fabric. And eventually I found a alike but somewhat confusing table for all the dies online.

Also I think the patterns that are shown on their internet site are terribly unimaginative. I have produced two so far that are not boring. The strip dies seem terribly overpriced to me in comparison to the smaller dies.

I admit it is tempting to purchase more and more dies. But each time I use the AccuQuilt GO! I am SO glad I have it and the dies I bought. I look at it the best quilting tool I own except for my beloved Bernina.

Right now you could not PRY this from my arms!

The GO! cutters by Accuquilt are a breakthrough in speed and accuracy. I make scrap quilts so the small size is just fine. I work with other quilters in making “care” quilts. Everyone cuts pieces a different size. I looked for a way to make the cutting uniform — this is it is I necessitated the YouTube videos to show me how to use it efficiently, and to trade me on the productions Would be good for them to include a CD or DVD with those training videos with the cutter. Basic will have to include a more spectacular square and half square. Bring the cutting dies down in highpriced Glad to have had the Amazon best prices and great service and shipping.

I LOVE my GO! cutting machine! this is an astounding product for anybody who has a hard time with the rotary cutter, or has arthritis. It takes the time and headache out of cutting fabric and makes the quilting procedure so much more fun and fast. I love all the new dies that are coming out that i CAN applique onto my quilts.

I love the Accuquilt. I do a lot of block style quilting and I hate to cut out the blocks. This machine actually elimates all the square cutting. The marketer had prompt shipping so I obtained my machine before the deliverance date. Would definately purchase from this seller again.

The Accuquilt Go has far surpassed my original expectations. Each cut is accurate and it works on all kinds of fabric including denim, wool, felt, and some battings. Although extra dies can be somewhat costly expensive buy them at Amazon to save money), the broad assortment of dies is genuinely great and allows your vision to run wild. No more measuring, snipping, or cutting mistakes. No more passing up patterns because of too numerous little shapes to cut. There is something for almost every quilting need including a potpourri of fun applique shapes. The Go also has a built-in handle with a magnetic latch and is very easy to take to a quilting class (everyone there thought it was great) or over to a friend’s house. I can carry a lot of dies with me in my old briefcase. So far, only the strip cutters are too large for the briefcase.

If you’re torn between the Accuquilt Go and the Accuquilt Baby because of the Baby’s lower price, consider this. The Go includes dies for a 4″ finished square, a 2″ finished square, and a 2″ finished half-square triangle. The Baby comes with no dies. Not all dies that will work with the Go will work with the Baby, but all dies that work with the Baby will work with the Go. That means a wider selection for increased creativity. The Go is definately the way to “go”.

I suffer from painful arthritis all over and the Go has solved many problems for me. My hands no longer cramp up from using scissors or a rotary cutter (which can be dangerous). My wrists don’t have the carpal tunnel pain I got using scissors. Instead of standing and suffering for hours at my cutting table, a short time with the Accuquilt and my pieces are utterly cut and ready to to sew. Using the Accuquilt Go I can now cut pieces for an entire quilt in an hour or two, something that used to take me days.

For any person that hates the time-consuming cutting routine or has fixed or painful hand, wrist, or elbow movement, the Accuquilt strategy is for you. Just place your fabric on the die, put on the cutting mat and turn the handle. The only issue I have now is trying to decide what project to do next. Ok, I’m a guy who turned to quilting for a hobby. This is one utile tool for which I am not penitent to say, “I love it!”
